I have an iPad Air (1) lying before me, with IOS 9.0.2, which handles IPv4 and IPv6 in parallel perfectly fine. This is OpenVPN 1.0.5 build 177. I am not pushing redirect-gateway, just a few individual routes + ifconfig - this is what the server says:
